Here’s a presentation of some animations from my final project for 1.018, Fundamentals of Ecology (Fall 2016). This project was my first experience with MATLAB, so it was challenging to learn how MATLAB worked. Looking back, I enjoyed learning how to code climate models and how the visual outputs can be used for communicating the results. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a lot of time to work on the project, so the underlying model is too basic to provide meaningful conclusions. The experience did spark interest in how comprehensive climate models are built and how they can quickly become complex to account for Earth’s dynamics.
