Collecting data in my room.
For 2.671 – Measurement and Instrumentation, each student picks a research question and over the course of the semester, refines the question, does background research, collects data, analyzes the data, and then communicates those results through a presentation, poster, and paper. My project was based on the simple but effective idea of evaporative cooling which is utilized by pot-in-pot refrigerators. I studied how material choice and wind speed effect the rate of cooling.
The error bars are smaller than as shown above – I made a mistake in the MATLAB code I used to generate the plot. (It was fixed for the paper.)
